The Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation is a formal recognition of expertise in the areas of financial planning, taxes, insurance, estate planning, and retirement saving.

Owned and awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc., the designation is awarded to individuals who successfully complete the CFP Board's initial exams, then continue ongoing annual education programs to sustain their skills and certification.
The Trust and Estate Practitioner designation (TEP) is an internationally recognized designation. It formally identifies qualified practitioners who have passed the exams necessary to demonstrate the high level of standards imposed by STEP on those who work with trusts and estates. It also signifies that practitioners have built significant experience in the field of trust and estate planning.
A chartered accountant (CA) is a financial professional who has met the rigorous experience requirements and has passed the Uniform Final Exam (UFE) to ascertain their competence in 6 key areas: financial reporting, corporate governance, finance, management accounting, auditing and taxation.
In January 2012, the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA), the Society of Management Accountants of Canada (CMA Canada) and Certified General Accountants of Canada (CGA-Canada) published A Framework for Uniting the Canadian Accounting Profession. The consolidated designation awarded is a CPA. CA practitioners were awarded the opportunity to continue to indicate their CA designation.
